Dr. Paty attended Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute where he graduated in 1984. He received his medical degree from Albany Medical College in 1986, completed his residency at Albany Medical Center Hospital and completed his vascular surgery fellowship at Albany Medical Center in New York in 1994.

Dr. Paty is Board Certified in both General and Vascular Surgery, is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a Professor at Albany Medical College and Chief of Vascular Surgery at St Peter’s Hospital.  Dr. Paty is also the current Medical Director of the Karmody Vascular Laboratory at Albany Medical Center.

Dr. Paty lives in Slingerlands, NY with his wife Dawn and their three children.
